SCTE Webinar “Adaptive Streaming: IP Video Delivery” presented by Jim Welch of IneoQuest
The consumption and delivery of video is changing at an extremely fast pace. Though traditional linear networks continue to expand and provide a large amount of video content, Over the Top (OTT) video is growing at an incredible speed. This is due in large part to the rise of new media for video consumption, mainly the personal computer, internet capable television, and video-enabled mobile devices. This new delivery model presents unique challenges to video providers, one of the most significant of which is the erratic bandwidth levels over which video can be delivered. To deal with this challenge, video is cached in content delivery networks at variant resolution levels, which are interchanged when bandwidth is limited. The process of adapting the size and quality of video to the bandwidth level of the connected device is called Adaptive Streaming.
To learn more about Adaptive Streaming and how video providers are delivering high-quality video to consumers, watch the “Adaptive Streaming: IP Video Delivery” webinar, presented by Jim Welch, Senior Consulting Engineer at IneoQuest Technologies, Inc. and Asaf Atzman, Senior Director, CTO Office, BigBand Networks, Inc.
