IQSegVue Getting Started

Basic Steps

Step 1: Startup and Add Bookmarks

  • After downloading the app, start it up and click the bookmarks icon (see screenshot).
  • Enter an asset name (this will be used by cMAC to track the asset).
  • Enter an asset URL. Be sure to enter the full URL. To get you started there is a list of sample URLs below.

Step 2: Watch a Video

Once all the assets have been added, select one and it will automatically start streaming.

Step 3: Diagnose

Watch the VeriStream statistics to diagnose issues. See details below about the VeriStream metrics.

Step 4: Debug

Click the Analytics button for detailed statistics. For a limited time, we have provided access to a cMAC server. See below for details on accessing it.

Description of the VeriStream Metrics

Video Quality and Event Trending:

  • Trending QoE and QoS in a single comprehensive graph to see pattern, duration and magnitude of video quality (see screenshot)
  • Track VeriStream (bad QoS, warning QoS, good QoS) along with outage, re-buffering, gear shifts and playout bitrate in one trend chart (see diagram on right)

Video Quality and Event Log:

  • Session log shows when and what events occurred (see screenshot)
  • Track and display CDN used and changes in CDNs during playout
  • IP addresses of caching servers

Interface to Consolidated Mobile Analytics Collector (cMAC)

  • Send all events and measurements to cMAC for central view for real time and historic reporting
  • Collect correlated measurements across multiple CDNs to analyze aggregated sessions
  • Interfaces to iVMS-ASM and cPAR-ASM for end-to-end operations view (roadmap)
  • Export all data to standard interfaces for third party analysis
  • Standard reports and real-time windows are accessible through cloud based web portal

Video QoE - Calculates and records (with timestamps):

  • Re-buffering events
  • Service outages events
  • Gear shifts (ABR changes) events
  • Encoded video bitrate change events
  • Frame drop events and player freeze events

Video QoS:

  • VeriStream measurement on every video file with timestamp.
  • Measure and records network bitrate of video delivery events with timestamp.
  • Send trace-route information after each and every server IP Address change.

Accessing a cMAC server

For a limited time, we have set up a cMAC server in order to allow demonstrations of the cMAC integration. To access the server do the following (see screenshot):

  • Click the IQSegVue icon in the top right banner.
  • Click on Settings in the menu and enter the following information in the cMAC Server settings.
  • Address: cmac.ineoquest.com
  • User Name: iqsegvuelite@ineoquest.com
  • Password: sunshine
  • Click the Globe icon and choose the cMAC Map or cMAC Session tabs while a video is playing.
  • Please note: All your data is open to other IQSegVue users. For a private account, contact IneoQuest.
