IQDialogue IPTV Mediaroom Installer

Fast, economical turn-up & troubleshooting tool for Microsoft Mediaroom deployments

IQDialogue® IPTV Mediaroom Installer is a software tool used to test, analyze, and validate Microsoft® Mediaroom® deployments for IPTV, VoD, and multi-room DVR services.

The program is very simple to install on any Windows laptop* and has a very easy to use interface for selecting and running tests for improved on-site efficiency. It automatically detects and identifies the various client protocols as a part of each test, which provides information on the Mediaroom service delivery platform.

In addition, it provides simple pass/fail results as well as quick and accurate fault identification because all measurements, including channel change timing, packet loss, Instant Channel Change (ICC) signaling, are saved. If required, 2nd and 3rd tier support technicians will be able to access the full advanced functionality of the tool for deeper analysis.

IQDialogue IPTV Mediaroom Installer can be used with:

  • IQDialogue IPTV Mediaroom Advanced
  • iDMS IQDialogue Management System
  • IQPinPoint multi-dimensional video quality management system

* Must meet minimum requirements

Mediaroom Signaling Overview

IQDialogue IPTV Mediaroom Installer passively monitors and captures all aspects of the Microsoft Mediaroom IPTV and VoD middleware between the STB, residential gateway, DSL modem, router, and multi-room DVR communication between STBs in the premises.

Troubleshooting

When traditional on-site analysis isn't enough, Tier-2/3 technicians can either conduct post analysis using a IQDialogue IPTV Mediaroom Advanced , or real-time analysis by remotely accessing the "full" interface on the IQDialogue IPTV Mediaroom Installer . This allows deeper analysis of issues like packet loss, D-Server communication issues, capacity problems, R-UDP fulfillment efficiency and status messages. It also allows the user to playback recorded traffic in an industry compliant libpcap format. The recordings can then be played back directly from an IQDialogue Advanced (using a built-in playback function without the need for a network connection).
