IneoQuest Co-Hosts Educational Webcast on Light Reading

Co-Hosted with Cisco Systems, Webinar Will Impart Real-World, Proven Techniques for IP Video Engineers Seeking to Increase Video Quality and Reduce Operations Expenses

MANSFIELD, Mass. - March 18, 2008 - IneoQuest Technologies, Inc., the leading global supplier of end-to-end quality, service and revenue assurance solutions for video providers of all types and sizes, today announced that it will co-host an educational webinar with technology partner Cisco Systems, entitled “How to Run a Large, IP Video Distribution Network and Still Sleep at Night.” The webinar, which will be broadcast on the Light Reading website on Wednesday, March 26 at 12 p.m. EDT, is aimed at IP Video providers in search of proven, repeatable methodologies that will help them improve the quality of video transmissions while assuring revenue by reducing operational expenses (OPEX) associated with customer care calls and troubleshooting anomalies along the transport network.

In today's competitive environment, service providers must deliver new and innovative services faster than ever before. At the same time, subscribers are demanding the flexibility to get their video services anywhere and anytime, with the best possible quality of experience (QoE). To meet these expectations, service providers of all types have deployed next-generation IP networks, which provide a new level of scalability, flexibility, and fault resilience, while acting as a platform for the rapid deployment of new video services.

As networks grow – in many cases evolving into large, national backbone networks spanning many thousands of miles – operators are challenged with the task of monitoring and troubleshooting large numbers of video flows that cross these dynamic IP networks. The challenge is amplified due to the jitter and loss-sensitive nature of video traffic, where a single lost IP packet can create visible artifacts on a large number of television screens across the network, resulting in customer calls to the operator. Repeated customer calls can result in dreaded customer churn, and today’s subscribers have all too many alternatives in this competitive market. As more providers turn to the IP network as a platform for deployment of new video services, a new approach to video quality monitoring is needed to improve picture quality while reducing trouble calls.

This webinar will discuss a set of technologies that can be used to ensure high-quality transmission of video across an IP network. With this new approach, IP layer and video layer information is collected at multiple points in the network, and correlated to create a single view of video quality – enabling service providers to precisely and rapidly resolve video issues while ensuring the best possible end-user experience. This approach also marks the first time that the IP and video control planes have been integrated to assist fault identification and troubleshooting, bridging the gap between the “IP engineers” and the “video engineers.” It thereby minimizes the duration of impairments and reduces calls to customer support centers.

This one-hour, interactive webinar will be moderated by Simon Sherrington, an independent analyst for Light Reading; S.V. Vasudevan, director of Cable Video Architectures for Cisco; and Gino Dion, vice president of Strategic Solutions for IneoQuest.  Please note: Due to Daylight Savings Time in the U.S., this webinar will be at 4:00 p.m. London time.

Pre-registration for this webinar is required. To register for this webinar, please complete the online registration form, located at:  www.lightreading.com/webinar.asp?doc_id=28754&promo=27062.
