Overview: In today's competitive environment, service providers must deliver new and innovative services faster than ever before. At the same time, subscribers are demanding the flexibility to get their services anywhere and anytime, with the best possible quality of experience. To meet these expectations, service providers of all types have deployed IP next-generation networks, which provide a new level of scaleability, flexibility, and fault resilience, while acting as a platform for the rapid deployment of new video services. As networks grow – in many cases evolving into large national backbone networks spanning many thousands of miles – operators may be challenged with monitoring and troubleshooting the large number of video flows that may cross these dynamic IP networks. Their challenge is amplified due to the jitter and loss-sensitive nature of video traffic, where a single lost IP packet can create visible artifacts on a large number of television screens. A new approach to video quality monitoring is needed. This Webinar will discuss a set of technologies that can be used to ensure high-quality transmission of video across an IP network. With this new approach, IP layer and video layer information is collected at multiple points in the network, and correlated to create a single view of video quality – enabling service providers to precisely and rapidly resolve video issues while ensuring the best possible end-user experience. This approach also marks the first time that the IP and video control planes have been integrated to assist fault identification and troubleshooting, bridging the gap between the “IP engineers” and the “video engineers.” It thereby minimizes the duration of impairments and reduces calls to customer support centers.
