The stream profiles used to produce the MDI curves provide realistic standardized load types, levels, and flow paths. These profiles, when used with the supplied test suite, generate MDI Characteristic Curves which describe device performance for Streaming Media over IP enabled networks. Standard load profiles include common mixes of SD, HD, MPTS, video flows in edge switch, mid span hub switch, and Headend configurations. The standard profiles allow easy performance comparison of different switch types.
